“Video Advertising”
28 April 2020/ A new way to inform and stay informed /
Dear Friends and Colleagues, welcome back.
This month I’d like to present to you the new Facto Edizioni Facebook channel, called “VIDEO ADVERTISING”.
This channel has been designed to help our readers stay informed about news in the sector quickly and easily, by simply viewing video ads. Manufacturers of attractions or providers of services for amusement parks will be able to send in videos on their new products or services – such as corporate videos, promotional videos for new product presentations, video interviews, video ads etc. – which following a technical check will be published.
To make this channel possible, we have joined forces with our partner company Togo Media, whose consulting services for corporate imaging also include filming and editing videos. As a result, companies that are interested in publishing promotional videos but don’t have any material or the material they have is incomplete, don’t need to worry. We can take care of the backing track, editing, inserting the logo and website address, or even the complete project, starting from filming.
How is the channel accessed? Go to the Facto Edizioni Facebook channel and then click the blue “Visit Group” button under the cover photo. Simple, isn’t it?
For our market segment, this type of channel dedicated to ads only is a new form of advertising. Yet video advertising itself has a history that spans almost 70 years. It all started in 1941, in the United States, when the first TV commercial was broadcast: the ad was about a famous watch and lasted 10 seconds.
In Italy, then, we had to wait until 1957, with the show ‘Carosello’, featuring famous actors of the time such as Ernesto Calindri, Gino Bramieri and Virna Lisi.
Over the decades, video advertising has made an enormous contribution to boosting business. In the early days, advertising was audible only, then over its evolutions has become increasingly powerful, as the Internet has demonstrated.
Digital advertising also has its own history, and today represents the most important revolution or evolution in the history of marketing. At its inception, in the early 90s, the investment in Internet advertising marketing was considered negligible. This lasted until 2014, when investments reached their peak. This is because Google has been able to dominate online advertising through Adwords. However the true evolution came with social media, starting with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram…
In the 1990s, the Internet was still considered as a tool for exchanging digital information and e-mails; nobody thought about using it for advertising. It was only in 1994 when the first banners began to be published. The major revolution in video advertising occurred in 2005, with YouTube, that thanks to the interactive features of the videos, offered a truly tempting opportunity for brands. Companies thus began to look less at television advertising and focus more on digital advertising.
In the early 2000s, the possibility of online video advertising expanded thanks to the growth in broadband connections. With broadband, users who surfed online had the opportunity to view videos over the Internet. YouTube made it possible to broadcast videos on the web that previously could only be viewed at the cinema or on TV.
In recent years, video advertising has also expanded to mobile devices, thanks to smartphones and tablets that have created advertising spaces that are suitable for small displays. The forecasts are very positive: according to a study by the experts from Thirty Seconds, by 2020 video advertising will account for over 80% of global traffic on the Internet.
