IAAPA EXPO 2021: always up to expectations

IAAPA Expo in Orlando, the international trade show par excellence in the parks and attractions industry, has always been a highly-anticipated event for exhibitors and visitors, with those taking part always preparing with enthusiasm and great expectations. This year the excitement was even stronger, as the trade show, held in mid-November, returned after the virtual edition of 2020, and after almost 2 hard years. A period that has put a strain on the sector all over the world, with the pandemic that first stopped and then complicated the business of many parks, recreational facilities and fun fairs, with direct and indirect consequences on the entire supply chain. And this difficult situation is not yet over given the persistence of the Covid-19 emergency and the discovery, in recent days, of new variants of concern.

With 878 exhibitors on just under 35,000sq.m of indoor and outdoor exhibit space and 28,229 registered attendees – including over 21,000 buyers – the trade show, albeit with lower numbers than usual, sent a strong signal, as stressed by Hal McEvoy, President and CEO, IAAPA: “The successful turnout for IAAPA Expo 2021 is a testament to the resilience and continued growth and strength of the global attractions industry,” he said. “It’s been a phenomenal week, bringing together the…
