Visitors to the IAAPA Expo Europe, which took place in London last September, enjoyed 4 great days of business and educational opportunities. The trade show, returning to the UK for the first time in more than a decade, showcased the latest trends and innovations shaping the parks and attractions industry and captured the energy of this industry as it continues to navigate new challenges that have arisen over the last several years. “This week was everything we had hoped it would be,” said Peter van der Schans, executive director and vice president for IAAPA Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). “Bringing together thousands of attendees from around the world is just one aspect of IAAPA, but it’s something we do really well. I hope attendees, everyone from exhibitors and buyers to industry veterans and session speakers, left feeling inspired to continue the exceptional work they do at their respective companies.”

SPI Global Play had a great and very special IAAPA 2022 as this year it is celebrating 50 years of delivering innovative indoor play and bespoke leisure concepts.  Pictured above, many but not all the members of the company’s team. 2022 marks the 50th business anniversary for Sela Group. The Italian company then presented itself in grand style, showing not only its new releases (such as the Formula 1 battery car), but also, in a beautiful video projected on a large screen, its plants where the full production process takes place.

IAAPA’s provisional figures show the London expo welcomed 11,474 registred attendees from 94 countries, including 7,510 qualified buyers representing 4,408 buying companies, and 530 exhibiting companies filling more than 15,000sq.m of exhibit space at ExCeL London. In other words, the trade show closed with 30% higher attendance than last year, back to the levels before the pandemic and proved once again the leisure industry’s premier event in Europe.
