26 meters high, 640 meters long, 4 different paths, 1,000 people per hour: these are the specs of the “Stingray”, the new record-breaking attraction at the French park O’Gliss, which is Europe’s largest raft water slide. Designed and manufactured by Polin Waterparks from Turkey, the “Stingray” that was unveiled at the end of June is the first specimen of its model, a 4-lane, 8-passenger, high-capacity racing tube slide that offers an unparalleled experience within a compact design.

The journey begins at one of the 2 custom-designed start towers, which are linked by a bridge, for better accessibility, and feature a unique roof for shade and a cooling mist, for better comfort during the queue wait. Once guests enter one of the 4 flume entrances, they embark on an exhilarating ride of up to 50km/h on 2-persons buoys; they ride through multiple interweaving paths that lead to 2 gigantic bowls, where they experience the thrill of whirling around the sides using centrifugal force. Each bowl features 2 distinct paths: one larger, longer, faster, and more thrilling, and one smaller, shorter, and especially entertaining. This variety ensures a unique experience with every ride, encouraging repeat visits.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with O’Gliss Park on this project,” said Sohret Pakis, Brand Ambassador of Polin Waterparks. “The “Stingray” represents the pinnacle of our design and engineering capabilities, and we are confident it will provide guests with an unforgettable experience.”

A 5 million euro investment, the “Stingray” is the biggest addition to the park since its opening in 2016, and joins some 20 other attractions on an 8ha area, which makes O’Gliss Park the biggest water park in France. “The “Stingray” is a revolutionary water slide that sets a new benchmark for water park experiences,” commented Michael Thibaud, CEO of O’Gliss Park. “We are thrilled to offer our guests this unique and exhilarating ride.” The park has also already announced that they are in contact with the Guinness Book of Records to make the distinction official.
