On May 10 Dorney Park, Cedar Fair’s amusement park in Pennsylvania, inaugurated Iron Menace, the park’s 8th rollercoaster, and the first Northeast’s dive coaster.

Custom-built by Bolliger & Mabillard from Switzerland, the new attraction provides a thrilling ride experience thanks to unique elements. Riders start their exhilarating journey in the remains of an old steel mill and then climb 49 meters, where they’ll hang over the 95-degree drop facing the ground for 3 seconds before diving into the first inversion, an Immelman maneuver. Three more mind-twisting inversions will follow along the 661m steel track, including a zero g-roll, a 360-degree corkscrew and a tilted loop, a first for a dive coaster.

The arrival of Iron Menace marks the first new rollercoaster to be built at Dorney Park since the opening of the Hydra floorless coaster in 2005. “Iron Menace is one of the largest capital investments in park history,” said Jessica Naderman, VP and General Manager of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. “With an exciting backstory that loosely connects riders to our area’s rich industrial roots, Iron Menace is our 8th rollercoaster, bolstering what has been an impressive lineup for well over a decade. Our coaster lineup – along with our all-inclusive waterpark, Planet Snoopy kids’ area, great shows, dining and more – make Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom a must-visit family destination in 2024.”
