/ The steepest launch coaster in the world opened at Europa-Park on April 26 /

This summer a brand new, action-packed rollercoaster is awaiting all visitors to Europa-Park, Germany’s largest theme park. At the end of April, within the new Croatian themed area of the park, the multi launch coaster Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac opened for the first time, amazing riders and spectators with its unique combination of thrill, atmosphere and technology.

Europa-Park’s 14th rollercoaster has a 1,385m long track that winds its way through an authentic Croatian landscape – light limestone, ruins, arches, fragments of wall and local flora, also including an 800-year-old olive tree – and offers a very intense ride experience thanks to some 30 ride elements. For example, 4 launches (including one with 105° inclination and one which is backwards) that create accelerations of up to 100kmph, and 7 stunning inversions.

The attraction is a Stryker Coaster model by Mack Rides, but all Mack companies (therefore, also Mack Solution, MackMagic and MackMedia) were involved in the development and implementation of the rollercoaster. “We planned, produced and built the ride ourselves and we will also operate it ourselves (editor’s note: the Mack family also owns Europa-Park),” said Europa-Park owner Roland Mack during the ride’s opening ceremony. “This is how we keep moving forward and create long-term growth, and we’re particularly proud of it.”

Running through the attraction and themed area as a common thread is the story of scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla, who was born in what is now Croatia, and who was able to realize his dream of wireless long-distance transmission of electrical energy.

From a distance, it’s not only the 32.5m tall rollercoaster, but also the Voltron tower that characterise the now-extended silhouette of Europa-Park. They play a crucial role in the storytelling: Tesla’s groundbreaking discovery transforms people into cosmic energy moving them from tower to tower as lightning. Passengers aged 8 and over and 1.30 metres tall can then experience this adventure first hand once they board one of the 7 trains of the ride, travelling at speeds of up to 100kmph.
