The EAG Expo in London marked the European debut of “Neon Bowling” at the SEGA Amusements stand, following its US launch at the IAAPA Expo in November.

Perfect for FECs, sports bars, and trendy venues around the world that focus on social gaming and group fun, this arcade bowler allows up to 4 players to enjoy friendly competition on a single unit, catering to both traditional bowlers and casual players interested in having fun with friends rather than scoring.

“Neon Bowling” features 2 game modes. Classic Bowling mode delivers the traditional bowling experience, while Neon Bowling mode is made up of 3 minigames in a 5 or 10-frame game which randomly pop up on a player’s turn. There’s Triple Strike, where the player has 3 tries to knock down all the pins, Red Pin Challenge, where he/she must avoid hitting the red pin, and Time Your Shot, where the challenge is aiming for the blue pin that is moving. What makes this game truly unique is that there is a chance for unlocking multipliers and extra balls throughout all the minigames, creating an engaging experience. “The different game options have proven to keep players coming back for more and are helping drive repeat plays and fantastic weekly game revenues,” explained ICE President Joe Coppola.

The game takes place with bowling balls weighing just 2 pounds and 4.5” in diameter: the right ball size and weight for all ages and skill levels, ensuring an enjoyable and accessible experience for everyone.

On the technical side, it’s also worth noting that the lane is an authentic high-pressure laminate lane – the same material used on certified lanes – and the pinsetter uses air cylinders to lift and position the pins, making operations quieter and more precise, and saving the operator time and maintenance costs.

The attention to the operator is also evident in the durable 9.5mm polycarbonate (the same material used for bank windows) protecting the 75” HD monitor, as well as in the ease of replacing the 10 pins and installing the attraction: it ships in 3 pieces that fit through standard 36” door frames and can be installed by 2 people in less than 2 hours.

To enhance the bowling experience, several optional extras are available, such as a 2.4m extension that enhances the game’s presence or bowling floor and leather seating transforming “Neon Bowling” into a statement piece that is sure to stop players in their tracks.
